A police officer accused of beating handcuffed woman was fired for it but not until after the chief of police viewed a video of the circumstances and then ordered an internal affairs investigation. Police officer fired after beating woman was the news headline.
Seems the woman had been arrested for suspicion of drunken driving. She’s semi cooperative in the video that we can see. Not 100% but cooperating enough she shouldn’t have been hurt.
All of that was on tape and when she refused the breathalyzer the cop shut the camera off supposedly as procedure. When we see her again she is laying in a pool of her own blood. When you get to see the pictures taken after para medics were called you can see the big cut on her forhead, two black eyes and sever bruising around her shoulders and armpits.
Really makes me wonder what the hell happened when the camera was off. It’s not your usual white police beating black suspect but a white woman who was beaten. Not that color matters as no one who is in custody and handcuffs deserves to be beat. Black, white or yellow and man or woman, that shouldn’t happen.
Seems to me that american police beat more and more women lately. Perhaps a little anger management is in order. BTW, the cop that was fired for beating the woman in handcuffs – no charges were filed.
Supposedly the prosecutor is looking at the evidence and may bring it before a grand jury to indite the cop who beat her. However I really doubt much will happen to him except for one hell of large lawsuit.
I don’t know why this seems to be happening now but it does seem that the police are beating women more often. Stupidity at it’s finest. Don’t they realize that cameras are everywhere now and tht almost everyone with a cell phone can video their actions at any time.
Perhaps we need mandatory anger management for all of the nations police officers. Back in the 60’s there was a bumper sticker that read “If you don’t like cops next time you need help call a hippie”. I suspect I’d now change that to “If you call the cops also call the local tv news at the same time to make sure you aren’t beaten by some frustrated police officer.
I lived through the 60’s I still remember the Chicago 7 and what a crock of crap that was, I remember the homicides at Kent State where the students were blatantly murdered by the national guard. Reminded me of Nazi storm troopers then but this latest round of police murdering their wives, girlfriends and beating women right in the police station reminds me more of the Taliban than it does anything else.

This is more of a question than a comment. At the beginning of April I was served a search warrant by the man. They came in full force and forcefully restrained me. They drug me on my knees only to be slammed into the swat truck and restrained. After putting the cuffs on so tight it cracked my wrist, one of the officers punched me in the next as I was being escorted to the car. I want to get them for mistreating me, physically and mentally. Where do I go from here to start the procedure to get some justice?
I’d say go to a lawyer if possible. If you have any way of proving what you say you should have a decent case.
OTOH I’ve been beaten by cops more than once in my younger days and never bothered to file a complaint. It was just a part of getting arrested.
Looking back my bad temper caused most of it. Lol, I have few problems with cops now days because I’ve learned to say Yes sir, No sir and do what they say, no matter how stupid they may be.
It took me a few years to learn that no matter how hard I fought them they just called more help and would win in the end.
Unless you have solid proof, videotape or officer testimony I doubt there’s much that you can do.
It’s a bad sign of the times when the cops are worse than the criminals.
